![]() ![]() (2) the VOBs created by DVDstyler from WMVs had 8%, 92% and 0%, resp. (1) normal VOBs have I-, P- and B-frames, often in the proportion 7-8%, ~31% and ~61% I noted another difference: while playing the DVD based on the MPEG2s there was no time displayed on the player, whereas, there was for the DVD from WMVs! (2) on using WMV 8/ADPCM equivalents from MediaCoder, for the same original clips, the ouput from DVDstyler played as expected - no pauses! (1) on using MPEG2 files from MediaCoder (much the same as you got): the video froze every now and then for ~1 sec with the audio getting progressively more out of sync and after about 1.5 min, play stopped altogether! I have just done some tests burning the VIDEO_TS folders from DVDstyler to disc (DVD-RW) and playing on my Pioneer standalone. (5) when the player 'pauses' does it stop play for a second or two, does the video just freeze while time marches on or does it go blank? (4) are your original clips on the DVDstyler Timeline short, corresponding to where the pauses are? (3) playing the VIDEO_TS.IFO file more closely mimmicks the playing of a DVD (suggest you dont 'play' the VOBs). (1) I'm using DVDstyler version 1.8.0 are you? I normally use MEncoder and FFmpeg, respectively, which was twice as fast and gave 4840 kbps for the same file. When I converted a 62 sec file, the resultant video was at 3438 kbps (using MediaInfo). I tried that in build 4602 and it gave a video bitrate of 5000 kbps and 'Average bitrate' (probably the same effect as 'variable'). The bitrate you set in MC is only nominal. Video at 2.3 Mbps will fill a standard disc in 4 0 0 min, 3 Mbps in 3:09, 4 Mbps in 2:24 and 5 Mbps in 1 h 56 min! With any authoring App, assuming audio is AC3 at 192 kbps, It is true that the higher the bitrate the lower the capacity in time. Have gone through about 25 disks trying to find a MC/DvdStyler mashup that will give reasonable results.Īs soon as I get the chance I shall try a burn to DVD directly from DVDstyler and via burning the VIDEO_TS folder from HDD or an ISO. #DVDSTYLER 1.5 TV#> NTSC TV standard wouldn't support MP2 (use AC3)! > The only comment I can make is that I thought the So I would really like to find some way to get DVD Styler to work. Unfortunately, that application gives me no control over menu layout, and resizes without cropping. The thing is, I have another application that can take the same source video, and size it down to the same size (720x480), and the same length, without the pauses. But at high bit rates, you can't get 3 hours (my goal) on the disk. If you cut a 12 minute disk, at a very high bit rate, you might not notice at all. > DVDstyler - I just checked a 12 min VOB from thisĪ 12 minute VOB? Did you cut a disk though? Also, what bit rate did you use? The problem seems very pronounced at 1000 kbps bit rate, and somewhat lessened at 4000. > I have not seen the pauses/breaks in an output from + ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ +įormat profile : settings, Matrix : DefaultĬhannel positions : Front: L C R, Surround: L R, LFE Has anyone else seen this effect? Is there a work-around? The pauses are about a quarter second long. BUT, when I make the DVD, the resulting DVD has pauses every 1 to 2 minutes. When I feed the transcoded files into DVDStyler, and change the extension to VOB, DVDStyle accepts the results as ready for direct copy, so that part is good. Outside of that, the transcoded file plays smoothly on Mplayer. The first problem I encounter is a notable delay between audio and video. I set the audio to MP2, keeping the defaults that MC set when I selected DVD settings.īut maybe MP2 audio was a mistake. So I select the DVD home player setting from the menu, then go back and set FFMPEG for audio and visual, and MEncoder for source. I have read the thread on creating VOB files. I imported a couple test mpg or avi video files into DVDStyler, and tried to play a preview through Media Player Classic Cinema, but it would not play.I'm trying to turn MPEG type files, high def, into 720x480 NTSC VOB files for use with DVDStyler in copy-mode. I just downloaded DVDStyler and IMGBurn based on some research I did looking for a free, simple solution. ![]() Music in the background would be nice, but definitely not required. #DVDSTYLER 1.5 FREE#I really just want a simple, reliable solution to take the source video files from my Canon HD camcorder, and import them to a free DVD authoring tool to later burn to DVD for basic playback on a DVD player. All I really want to do is author basic DVDs of home videos of my daughter to send to the grandparents. ![]()
